We value being an inviting and welcoming family of Christ followers who celebrate the love of God through relationship and support of one another. I John 4:7 says, “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.” We seek to cultivate loving relationships by being a friendly, growing family of faith.
We value worship that is joyful and Christ-centered. We value a focused (intentional) and powerful prayer, faithful biblical preaching, and glorifying and praising God in word and deed. Colossians 3:17 says, “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” We seek to worship Christ in every aspect of life.
We value improving our community through our witness and our service. We seek to be the living example of Jesus in our community as we seek to serve others and be the salt and light of Jesus Christ to others. 1 Peter 4:10 says, “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.”
We value making disciples of Jesus Christ who are growing spiritually. We seek to instruct one another through sound biblical teaching. We value intentionally growing in our faith to become more like Jesus. 2 Peter 3:18 says, “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.”
We value the intentional proclamation of the Gospel both locally and globally. We value reaching those far from God in our community as well as in mission fields around the world through intentional proclamation of the Gospel. We fully embrace the Great Commission to go and make disciples of Jesus Christ in all nations. We are commanded by Jesus, in Mark 16:15 to “go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.”
We value ministry to people of every age and background. We desire to be a church that utilizes the gifts of every person and values every generation of Christ followers. We purposely seek to engage every generation through intergenerational worship, fellowship activities, and ministry events. Psalm 45:17 says, “I will perpetuate your memory through all generations, therefore, the nations will praise you for ever and ever.”
We value the faithful stewardship of God’s creation as well as His blessings of time, talent, and treasure. We seek to be generous and to give to those in need. We value generosity and the faithful giving of resources for the glory of God. We embrace the command of Jesus from Acts 20:35 that “it is more blessed to give than to receive.”
We value our Brethren history, distinctives and practice including our New Testament beliefs in believers’ baptism, love feast, anointing, and pursuing peace. We stand in the tradition of the Church of the Brethren in seeking to continue the work of Jesus peacefully, simply, and together. Matthew 5:9 says, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.”
