He is risen! He is risen indeed!
What a joyous week of worship we shared together in celebration of our LIVING KING! Many, many thanks to all who led messages, prepared food, cleaned up, showed up, watched kids, prayed, taught lessons, held doors, made coffee, greeted guests, ran technology, played music, helped set-up, shared creative ideas, sang songs… I could go on and on! The church calendar was quite full this week, no doubt. But what makes the mission we’re after so beautiful is the many, many hands that make it all go! Pastor Kevin and I couldn’t do it without you! The Kingdom is grateful!
In the Gathering Area you’ll find a board with lots of opportunities for you to support the Children’s Outreach Ministries (COM) by volunteering in various capacities for their upcoming Wee Friends 50th Anniversary Carnival Fundraiser. The event is being held here on Saturday, April 18th from 11-3pm. We are in need of willing hearts to prepare and serve hotdogs and popcorn, operate carnival games, help with general event set-up and tear-down. The shifts are 2-2 ½ hours long depending on the task. This is a great service opportunity for all ages! There are also some opportunities to donate some food products if you can’t help in person that day.
I’ll share a short email today, for obvious reasons I would assume! This week will thankfully be a much quieter one around here. You can be prayerful for me as I am teaching at a women’s retreat towards Chambersburg this weekend. This is my second year teaching at this gathering and I am looking forward to returning. The privilege to bring the Word to the group is not lost on me, so I would covet your prayers for a clear mind and receptive ears.

What I’M Learning This Week: Sharing what I’m reading and listening to lately
One of my favorite Easter passages is Luke 24:5, “In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead?”
The women at the tomb really didn’t know any different. They did not yet fully realize the truth of verse 6, “He is not here; he has risen!” So it makes sense, and really is allowed, that they went looking for dead among the dead.
But He wasn’t dead. He was alive!
Yet, we, who do know the reality and truth of Luke 24:6, still look for life among the dead. But we look for things that will never actually bring life, be alive or sustain our life for eternity. We actually, though we know better, look for dead among the dead. Life is right in front of us. Life is literally dwellinging within us (John 14:17) - the Way, the Truth and the Life!
We know where to look! So let’s stop fixing our eyes on what we think will bring us life, but is actually dead, and lock in on the “author and perfector of our faith” - our risen JESUS.
