Today’s a “re-entry” day for me. After a great trip to D6 Conference last week, I came home for a quick hour before leaving to work a landscape auction in New York. It’s been a week to say the least. A rough start to my morning, too, as I spilled my WHOLE cup of coffee on the floor of my car as I left the Daily Grind… That was probably a sign to just go home and go back to bed, but I press on nonetheless!
In all seriousness, we had a really wonderful time at the 2025 D6 Conference this past week! It’s like drinking from a firehose, as we engaged with 6 different workshop presenters and roughly 10 mainstage speakers. I have a lot of debriefing and reflecting to do! Look for our report on our learning and next steps on Sunday!
Check-in with any of our group and ask them about their favorite speaker! We purchased recordings of all the workshops and mainstage speakers. When they’re released I’ll share them with the congregation! We also enjoyed some great fellowship and some time to rest by the poolside. I’m grateful for your prayers for us as we traveled! Next year the conference is in Nashville, maybe you’ll consider joining us!
Tonight and tomorrow we celebrate the “graduations” of the Wee Friends Preschool students. It’s really the cutest thing you’ll ever see, so if you need a few extra smiles tonight, stop by and support our COM ministries. They’re last days of school are next week. The Primary program will wrap up at the end of May.
Hopefully the coffee stays in your mug today! Missed you all on Sunday! Looking forward to worshiping with you all again soon!

What I’M Learning This Week: Sharing what I’m reading and listening to lately
I’m tired today. Remember? My coffee spilled all over my car! Truthfully, I’m overwhelmed with all the information that I consumed last week. Stuff at home is a lot right now too. Finding a spot to start on this week’s to-do list felt a little daunting. Flipping through my notes from the D6 Conference and “let’s not get tired of doing good” (Galatians 6:9). Really what caught my eye was the “let’s not get tired…” Just kidding!
In all seriousness, this verse was used to wrap up a short, encouraging message reminding ministry leaders and volunteers that “the greatest difference between ministry joy and burnout is mindset.” “Get to” versus “have to.” All systems were setting me at a “have to” mindset today. But like a balm for the soul, Paul’s words for the Galatians, were equally as encouraging to me. “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”
Despite the spilled coffee, severe sleep deprivation and a full brain, we press on. I get to do this on behalf of the “family of believers.” That’s you my friends! You and the strength of the Lord are my coffee today! What a joy it is to “do good” with you all as we wait for the harvest!
