Hello again, my friends! We are switching all gears to summer mode around here and it feels good! (But also wild that we’re quickly approaching the halfway point of this year!)

Yesterday we began our Adult Summer Sunday School Elective classes. Each room was full, what a great turn-out! A big thank you to the teachers for each class, I already was hearing great feedback! You are free to “shop around” as you please, trying out different classes each week. Or you can lock in one for the summer! I know it’s hard to choose! If you are waiting on a book for the class that you’re participating in, they should be in-house by Friday, if not they’ll definitely be in your classrooms on Sunday morning. As a reminder, we are asking for a $5 donation for the books purchased by the church.

By now you’ve likely taken notice that we have an upcoming Church Family Discipleship event. This is next in the series following Bible Belles (Mother-Daugher, 2024) and Next Man Up (Father-Son, 2025). This year's event is “The Great Father-Daughter Adventure!” This event is open to Father-Daughter pairs/groups from Kindergarten up (including adults)! We’ll meet at Black Rock Retreat for a time of spiritual connections for dads and their daughters and an afternoon of adventure and fun around the camp! Lunch will be provided. Invite your friends and sign-up in the Gathering Area today!

We’ll be able to share our Church Family Picture with you soon, stay tuned for that! Don’t forget about upcoming Church Membership and Baptism classes! If you’re interested in participating, reach out to Pastor Kevin or I. However, the Baptism deadline is today!

It’s wedding week for my family! I won’t be in the office much towards the end of the week and I won’t be here on Sunday due to all the celebrations. We are prayerful for healthy bodies and sunshine as we celebrate this joyous occasion for my sister and soon-to-be brother-in-law!

What I’M Learning This Week: Sharing what I’m reading and listening to lately

For a while this year I was creating weekly podcast episodes to “deepen our understanding, ignite curiosity for what we’re learning next and help us grow as fruit-producing, God-glorifying disciples.” This was a super fun project for me but it had to take a back burner for a little bit while I was maxed out with some other things. Re-launching it had been on my list of intentions for this summer, but I wasn’t entirely sure what that was going to look like.

I was reading in Ephesians earlier this week, a book all about identity, new life, unity and the Christian life. I was hit with an exciting idea to use the podcast to lead our Church Family through a simple Summer Bible Study through the book of Ephesians. Each week I’ll release three mini-episodes to help guide you through the book of Ephesians. On Monday’s we’ll DEEPEN our understanding of what we’ll be reading together that week (just 14-20 verses a week!). On Wednesday’s we’ll IGNITE our curiosity about that week’s text, determining how it fits into the good news of the Gospel. Then on Friday’s we’ll GROW as God-glorifying disciples and apply what we’re learning.

This little project is for EVERY GENERATION of our Church Family, it feels really appropriate to read this together this summer! You can follow along in a lot of different places… Spotify, Apple Podcasts, our Church Website and now YOUTUBE!

We start on Monday! My prayer for this study is the same as Paul’s in chapter 1… “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.” (Ephesians 1:17-19a)
